We worked in collaboration with our sister company GMB Architecture + Engineering on the full discipline design. The design included clerestory windows that bring natural light deep into the space, thus reducing lighting demands. An adjacent 7,677 sf service yard was also added to screen and enclose industrial chiller towers that were integral to the chiller equipment located within the building and were connected via: piping in an underground tunnel. The heavy weight of the equipment, which was both suspended from the structure and bolted to concrete slabs, made for structural challenges during the design process. Collaboration between disciplines was the key to keeping this project on schedule and to meet the client’s goals.

This new central chilled water plant serves the manufacturing facilities and some related office areas. The new plant services a newly construction manufacturing area and also replaces the existing chiller plants in three other existing manufacturing facilities.
