new 18,856 sf center for transportation studies building and emergency vehicle operator course provides hands-on career ready training facilities to rock county.

This 18,856 SF new Center for Transportation Studies Lab for Blackhawk Technical College includes a 930 SF partial lower level and 2,646 SF storage and mechanical mezzanine. The Center for Transportation Studies (CTS) is used for the Automotive and Diesel & Heavy Equipment classes. There is also an Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) with several buildings used for scenario training. The facility accommodates (4) diesel service training bays, (4) automotive service bays, (2) auto alignment bays, overhead bridge crane, service entrance garage, toilet rooms, storage rooms, and support spaces. In addition, approximately 2.25 acres of site development were a part of the project, including drive lanes, parking stalls and site lighting. Systems included in the building design comprise of natural gas, water, power, data, exhaust venting, and compressed air. This project is designed to meet the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Silver Certification Standards.
